SEA GLIDE

The SeaGlide underwater robot is designed to collect data about the conditions of the water it is in.  It currently travels in only one direction, diving and surfacing at intervals that the programmer sets before the SeaGlide is placed into the water.  There are many modifications that can be done to the unit, including the attachment of a camera, sensors and other devices.

While data collection on the condition of the world’s bodies of water is important, the plan for SeaGlide is for students to design innovative wings and rudder to be able to steer the SeaGlide under waterand to make other modifications, both is software and hardware - in other words, to make it similar to a biological animal.

A summer camp is being developed for 2017. If you are interested in this program please send an e-mail to the contact on the Contact Us page.
